Through the Campus Philly web site, we aim to bring you Philadelphia while
ensuring your comfort and privacy. Fundamentally you should know that
our efforts focus on bringing the college students in the region to the
best information, discounts and interactivity that we can from the arts
and culture, nightlife, professional and community circles. Our users
are our family in good times and bad, and we will be true to our commitment
to protect your interests.
Therefore, the following privacy policy has been put together to inform you, the user, about what we do when we collect personal information from you. If there are any questions about this Privacy Policy, please email them to webmaster@campusphilly.org. Alternatively, you can contact us at Campus Philly, International House, 3701 Chestnut St., 6th Floor East, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Information Collection and Use Campus Philly, as the owner and operator of this site, is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy. We collect information from our users at several different points on our site, and offline at events, and we store this information in our database. We use the information that we collect from you to provide the features available on this site, for development of new features and services, and to otherwise improve this site, as well as for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. GPCTP also uses this information to monitor the progress of our mission, and for related research purposes. While we may reveal aggregate statistics about our database (for example, the percentage of Campus Philly users who are in college), your individual, personal information will never be shared, rented or sold to any of our partners or third parties except as described in the below section titled "Sharing." Registration This site has different types of users. When we say "users", we mean people who surf the web site. When we say "registered users" or "members", we mean those users that also have filled out the Campus Philly registration form to join our mailing lists, receive discounts, post to message boards or receive other membership benefits. When you register on this site, you will be required to provide the following information: user login ID, your name, email address, school, graduation term, graduation year, date of birth, gender, zip code, type of program, degree/major, occupation and home state/country. You will also have the option to make your profile private by checking the appropriate box. None of our employees will ever ask you for your password, and you should never release your password to a third party. In addition, you may choose to provide us with optional information, including the ability to add: a photo, personal quote, chat name, personal homepage, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, up to 3 leadership positions and other interests. It is to your advantage to provide us with all of your information so that we have the opportunity to provide you with the best service possible. In the future, we may use this information in order to tailor your experience so that, for example, everyone in your neighborhood might hear about a local event. Knowing more about our users helps us to plan site features better suited to your tastes. Registered users can update, change, or delete personal information by going to the "profile" section after the "member login." If you experience any difficulties, you can contact webmaster@campusphilly.org. Sharing campusphilly.org's business practice is to not reveal the names and contact information of our users to third parties. This means that any direct e-mail promotions you may opt into will always be delivered by campusphilly.org directly. We may choose to allow promotional partners to contact you, through our system, with your consent on the registration form, but such activity is monitored internally and no personal information is revealed to the partner in the process. We do not permit any user, partner or member to identify your e-mail address. We also do not permit any user, partner or third party to identify any other personal information unless you have granted permission for it to be displayed on your profile posted on the Site. Campus Philly, at its sole discretion, will suspend or ban members who violate another user's rights or privacy. Please realize that we are unable to thoroughly monitor all content submitted by members to the web site. If you want to report any abuses, you can write to webmaster@campusphilly.org or call 215-746-4757. We may reveal to a third party your name, email address or member name without your consent if such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable Federal, state or local laws or to our protect our interests or property. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, credit bureaus, agents or government agencies in connection with issues related to fraud, credit or debt collection. We may disclose to third parties statistics such as your zip code, gender and/or age, education level, or other registered data or preferences, but ONLY in aggregate form. This means that your name or identification will not be associated with such disclosures, but rather a third party may receive information that is not personally identifiable. For example, NOBODY will know that you like to buy FUBU clothing and attend concerts twice a month, but we may disclose that, for example, 35% of our users buy FUBU clothing and attend concerts twice a month. You may provide your consent for any information sharing on our registration forms. We may also allow access to personal information in our database, only if necessary, to third parties who provide services available on or through this site, such as email services, but only to the extent necessary to provide you with those services. Any third party using your personal information to provide such services will be bound by the remaining provisions of this privacy policy. The information gathered may be shared with corporate affiliates of Campus Philly. Users should understand that this policy is subject to change, and any changes will be posted on our mailing list and web site http://www.campusphilly.org/ as they might occur. Users should also understand that this policy may or may not survive in the case that the property of the information collected on this site should permanently change in ownership, in which case the user base will be notified as remarked above. Information Collected from Children We care about the safety of children on this site and encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's use of the Internet. We believe that users under the age of 13 should get their parents' or guardians' consent before giving out any personal information. We will not knowingly maintain or share with third parties any personal information provided by users who indicate that they are under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly send any direct email offers to users who indicate that they are under the age of 13. Moreover, no information collected from users who indicate that they are under the age of 13 is knowingly used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever, except as stated in this Privacy Policy. Campus Philly adheres to all stipulations of the Child Privacy Act and any relevant local, state or federal laws governing matters of use by children and minors. Accordingly, if we become aware that a user under the age of 13 is attempting to use any feature of this site or any product or service available on this site that requires him or her to provide us with any personal information, we will ask that user to provide the email address of his or her parent or guardian. We will then send that parent or guardian an email from us alerting them to the child's activities. We will not knowingly permit that child from continuing such activities until we receive the appropriate consent of his or her parent or guardian. Please check this site from time to time for information about revisions to our privacy policy.
