We are a network of regional student leaders working to make the Greater Philadelphia region more attuned to students' needs, while also helping to improve life on each of our campuses by co-sponsoring and cross-promoting events and sharing best practices. GPSA's board of directors consists of student leaders from each of six regions, including the 2 regions in the city of Philadelphia, Northern Suburbs, the Main Line, South Jersey and Delaware. GPSA is always looking for new initiatives to improve student life in the region, as well as opportunities to engage with local governments, the business sector and non-profit groups. If you are interested in joining GPSA, please visit the Get Involved! page for more information.

| The idea to have a student association for the Greater Philadelphia region arose out of conversations between student leaders at the first annual CAMPUS PHILLY Student Leadership Conference in 2002. The students gathered there found that they share many concerns in common with student leaders at other regional schools. Public transportation issues, lack of familiarity with local job/internship opportunities, poor late night social options, and concerns over looking for post-graduate housing emerged as issues that were common to many students in the region. Many students felt that working together to solve these and other issues would make Philadelphia a better place for students, as well as a more attractive city to young professionals and recent college grads. GPSA is always looking for regional students to work on GPSA initiatives. If you are interested in finding out more, or getting involved with current GPSA projects, please email us. To be added to the general listserv, please register for the CAMPUS PHILLY members' section (top right hand corner of the CAMPUS PHILLY homepage), and sign up for the GPSA newsletter. |
