CONNECTING TO LOCAL TALENT

This October 4, Philadelphia-area companies will meet with hundreds of college students as part of the region's premiere networking event. Campus Philly is connecting college students to jobs, internships, mentors, and career paths at Greater Philadelphia companies.

Keynote Speaker- Matthew Bates,
Human Resources Director for Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG), Delaware Valley

Matthew Bates is the Human Resources Director for Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG), Delaware Valley.

Mr. Bates is responsible for leading the market unit’s people agenda, including staffing, diversity, labor relations and organizational capability. Mr. Bates joined PBG in 2003 in Eastern Virginia as the Senior Human Resource Manager were he led the HR function and partnered with the VPGM to build a great place to work, including staffing, developing capability and rewarding and recognizing high performance.

Prior to joining PBG, Mr. Bates worked in durable goods holding increasing roles of HR responsibility at American Standard as the HR Generalist at a start-up Trane air conditioning plant and then the Manager of Workforce Development at Headquarters. Before American Standard he worked with USG in progressively challenging HR plant assignments.

Mr. Bates holds a Bachelor of Science degree in labor industrial relations from Pennsylvania State University as well as a Professional Human Resource (PHR) certification from HRCI.
