Discounts, giveaways and free museums…oh my!

Philadelphia is rolling out the red carpet to welcome (back) college students to the City on Saturday (Sept. 26).

There will be discounts for college students in Manayunk, Center City, South Street and University City to help you explore Philadelphia and the places you have been dying to get off campus to try – without breaking your (parent’s) bank. Plus, there will be seven museums open just for you – free of charge. Visit one (or all seven) and get brownie points for your Art History class.

No concert this year, but there are over 100 other reasons (discounts and freebies) for you to get off campus. All you need is your college ID and your Campus Philly Discount Card.

Visit campusphilly.org/collegeday to plan your College Day itinerary!

For the record: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s about that time, eh, chaps? The 2009 Campus Philly College Day is this Saturday, Sept. 26. If you haven’t heard, we’re changing the format this year: no massive takeover of the Parkway, no huge concert. But, considering the state of everyone’s finances of late, what we’re doing instead might be more helpful.

Campus Philly has organized city-wide discounts in four of Philly’s neighborhoods: University City, Center City, Manayunk and South Street. These one-day-only discounts are even better than the discounts we normally offer every day. All you need to do is flash your Campus Philly discount card at any of these locations and you’re set.

In addition, the seven museums on the Parkway will continue to be free to college students this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.; just show your college I.D.

There will also be free shuttle loops to the museums running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as one from LOVE Park to South Street between 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

If you don’t yet have your Campus Philly discount card, visit your school’s student activities office and pick up the 2009 Campus Philly Notebook (the cards are in the back).

For more information, visit campusphilly.org/collegeday.

And don’t forget to stop by and say hey to your favorite editor-in-chief! I’ll be chilling at the Campus Philly table in LOVE Park all day (and I’m very fond of coffee).
