World Water Day ‘09
March 22, 2009
More than 1 billion people around the world lack clean, safe drinking water and more than 2.6 billion lack adequate sanitation services. Join Ethos Water and Starbucks in taking action to address this critical global problem. Join the Ethos Water/Starbucks Coffee Company Walk for Water in Philadelphia, or check out Starbucks V2V to find or start a Walk for Water in your community and to meet others who are passionate about this cause.

For the record: Baseball fever is getting hot
Now that all the snow has melted from under us and the warm air is starting to create a tease for our winter jackets, there is only one thing that is on my mind: Baseball Fever! With only 17 days until opening night, the smell of ball park franks and peanuts is so close I can almost taste it.
Yes, The Phils may be in Clearwater, Fla. right now for Spring Training, but they were nice enough to share their victory presence during their training. So we won’t miss them too much…
During the month of March, The World Series Trophy Tour continues its stops throughout the community including colleges. Some stops include Temple University, The Philadelphia Zoo, Saint Joseph’s University, Prince Music Theater, Cabrini College and Villanova. For more information and an in-depth schedule of all trophy stops visit www.phillies.com.

Volunteer to help UNICEF
Put an end to the preventable deaths of children due to a lack of clean water
Do you want to help UNICEF change the lives of millions of children around the world who need access to clean, safe drinking water?
Every day, 4,200 children die from waterborne diseases. UNICEF believes those numbers should be zero. To raise awareness about this critical issue, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF launched the Tap Project, a nationwide campaign that provides safe drinking water to the world's children. During World Water Week, March 22-28, 2009, restaurants across the United States will encourage patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. Every dollar raised supports UNICEF water, sanitation and hygiene programs. Just $1 provides a child with safe drinking water for 40 days!
UNICEF needs your help, Philadelphia! Register to be a Tap Project Campaign Volunteer and help UNICEF recruit and support the thousands of restaurants needed to make the campaign a success. Visit http://tapproject.org to learn more and to register as a Campaign Volunteer today! Contact tapproject@unicefusa.org with any questions.
