For the record: Summer Breeze, Makes Me Feel Fine

As college students, we’re lucky enough to have our summers start in May. But for grade schoolers, high schoolers and even Mother Nature, summer does not officially begin until June; this year, it arrives for good on the 21st at 1:45 A.M.

Each year, the Kimmel Center hosts its Summer Solstice Celebration to properly welcome the season. The annual community event showcases local talent in music, art, dance and more and lasts from Saturday afternoon until dawn the next day.

Just $10 gets you a 15-hour stretch of live entertainment of almost every thinkable genre. The highlight of the celebration is the Sunrise Drum Circle where participants are encouraged to B.Y.O.D. (bring your own drum) and welcome the first sun of the summer in rhythmic fashion.

For more information on the Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice, check out the Campus Philly calendar.
