For the record: Happy Birthday to You

This year is the 15th anniversary of the Vans Warped Tour. Started in 1994 by concert production entrepreneur Kevin Lyman, Warped has solidified its place as the must-attend summer event for music lovers across the country. I went to my first Warped in 1998 and I haven’t missed one since.

The tour makes its Philly stop tomorrow at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ. This year, young bands 3OH!3, All Time Low and Forever the Sickest Kids claim the headlining spots while veterans Flogging Molly, Bad Religion and Less Than Jake are still a major presence. If you haven’t got your tickets already, you can still purchase them day of at the venue.

In addition to the longest running annual tour in North America entering its hardcore teenage years, my Campus Philly colleagues and friends Brittany Sturges, Stephanie Skari and Kara Ashe will be celebrating their birthdays over the next two weeks. Don’t worry. I won’t be singing.
