FOR THE RECORD: They're Back...

They’re back! All nighters, oversleeping sprints to class, and the never ending crave for home cooked food. Yes, despite the fact it does not feel like spring, Spring Semester has begun.

For most, crawling back under the blanket or in our new “Snuggies” by the fireplace with hot chocolate in hand sounds like the greatest thing on earth. Unfortunately, it is time to get back into the college routine. Luckily, although Philly cannot help the weather circumstances, the city is stirring with exhilaration and tons of awesome events. On the week of Jan. 25-30, enjoy a three course meal at a college price during Center City District Restaurant Week, try bearing the weather, get outside and ice skate at Blue Cross River Rink, and not to mention above all things… Eagles are only one game away from Superbowl XLIII!

Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Make It a Day On, Not a Day Off
January 19th, 2009
Volunteer on January 19, 2009 during the
MLK Day of Service, when tens of thousands of volunteers serve throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware in the largest King Day event in the nation.

Whether you're a civic organization or a group of friends, if you have an idea for a service project, you can participate in this year's event.  Many of your schools will be hosting events, but if your organization wants to be involved and doesn't have a project in mind, you can register for volunteer opportunities through the United Way's website.  Also, when you register your own project, you'll get free t-shirts and the ability to recruit extra volunteers.  We encourage you to use United Way's resources at mlkdayofservice.org to make this January 19th a day to make a difference in your community. For Campus Philly's Day-of-Service guide, visit
