FOR THE RECORD: Finding an Internship Just Became Easy

A few weeks into the new semester, and the reality has hit! Yes, it is great that you are taking these amazing classes, but where is the real world experience? Knowing and learning the skills is great, but work experience is extradinary! What's next? One word, internship.

My advice is apply now. Lucky for you, until Oct. 10, you can apply for hundreds of internships through the Campus Philly Careers Online Internship Fair without even leaving your home. So browse around and find the perfect job for you!

- Megan Pellegrino, Cabrini '09

Win tickets to The Wilma Theater's "Rock 'N'Roll"
In 1968, as the world is ablaze with rebellion, Jan, a young Cambridge graduate student with little but a prized collection of rock albums, returns to his homeland of Czechoslovakia just as Soviet tanks are rolling into Prague. Back in England, Jan’s mentor, Max, a professor of Marxism, faces his own crisis as the idealism he so strongly held onto smashes against the landscape of political upheaval. Stoppard’s epic tale combines history, conflict, and passion, and spans 22 turbulent years, at the end of which, love remains – and so does rock ‘n’ roll.

Tom Stoppard’s Rock ’n’ Roll is directed by Blanka Zizka and is onstage at The Wilma Theater September 17-October 26, 2008.  Enter to win 2 tickets to see Rock ’n’ Roll on Tuesday October 21st at 6:30pm or Friday October 24th at 8:00pm.  For more information, visit The Wilma Theater’s website at http://www.wilmatheater.org/.

Great Philadelphia Cares Day is coming up soon on October 18th and is a great chance to give back to Philadelphia, help make our schools better places to learn, and hang out with your fellow volunteers for a great afternoon at the Mann Center.  The day starts at 8:30 with breakfast and a gathering at the Mann Center, then working at your team’s assigned school from 10-2 before coming back to the Mann Center and for pizza, music, and hanging out with thousands of like-minded caring Philadelphians.  If you want to join the Campus Philly Community team, go HERE and click on ‘Join Team’ and then select us from the drop down menu.
