FOR THE RECORD: A Break is Right Around the Corner...

These past few weeks of class has been quite stressful and I don’t know about you, but as a college student I can only hope for a break. It is that breaking point as the semester comes to a close and the work continues to pile up where we begin to crash and burn. Personally, this is why I feel that Thanksgiving Break was invented.

Only one more week—seven days—until all college students get the chance to break free, drop all school work for four days. This Thanksgiving, make sure to give thanks for this opportunity, spend your days with your family and friends and realize how lucky as Americans we are for this break and time to gather with loved ones.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL - LIVE ON STAGE AT THE ACADEMY OF MUSIC

The hilarious MGM film is Broadway's new smash-hit musical, and now LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is coming to Philadelphia!  LEGALLY BLONDE follows sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer.  When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more 'serious,' Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law School. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. After turning Broadway and MTV hot pink, this "Feel-Good Song and Dance Juggernaut" (New York Magazine) is "The Best New Musical Around!" (WOR)

Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Make It a Day On, Not a Day Off
January 19th, 2009
Since 1996, thousands of volunteers across the region have participated in service projects addressing community concerns such as literacy, homelessness, poverty, sub-standard housing, the digital divide, the environment, and healthcare.  Please join us on January 19, 2009, when tens of thousands of volunteers serve throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware in the 14th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, the largest King Day event in the nation. Last year over 3,000 volunteers from local colleges and universities participated in this event.  This year help us to double that effort.

Want to plan your own project?  Whether you’re a student organization, a fraternity or sorority, an honor society, a dorm hall or a group of friends; if you have a service project in mind, participation in this year’s event is simple.  If you just want to volunteer as a group or as an individual, we have lots of opportunities as well.   Visit www.mlkdayofservice.org to find out more about the King Day of Service.
