FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
FOR
THE RECORD: I'd rather be...
Alright, so for those of you who have been reading the Click, you may
know that I love to procrastinate. I even came up with a top 10 ways that
people choose to procrastinate during finals last semester.
Now, I'm sure that the general ideas haven't changed. People still like
to shop, clean, sleep or get creative...but now that the weather is gorgeous,
I'm sure that the number one form of procrastination will be outside.
Just remember to take your SPF-15 (or 30) with you! Students may not like
finals, but taking finals with a really bad sunburn is worse (and unhealthy).
So if you need a break, check out this list of the top 10 ways people
choose to procrastinate...and then get back to studying!!
1. Checking the Internet...because someone might have
changed something on their profile in the last 3.68 seconds since you
last checked.
2. Calling friends and family...perhaps even contacting
your old best friend from fifth grade, just to see how they're doing.
3. Cleaning: you can't study at the kitchen table if
you can't find it underneath all your hand-outs and textbooks, now can
you?
4. Shopping: you'll need some new #2 pencils for that
final...and a new book for the beach and a new CD for the road trip and...
5. Sleeping: you should be well rested for your exams,
right?
6. Cooking: how else are you going to know if it's healthy
if you don't cook other recipes to compare it with?
7. Organizing: you can't study without your classical
music, but you can't remember if the CD is categorized by genre, composer,
alphabetically or some other way. Better reorganize just to make sure.
8. Exercising: Just a short jog around the block will
help you refocus...plus, it's so pretty outside....
9. Going out: Your friends want you to go out for lunch...a
short lunch. A half hour won't hurt, right?
10. Diverting your focus: You know you should be studying
calc, but that 20-page literature paper due next week isn't going to write
itself...you'll just write the introduction and then back to work!
