Connections: Philly’s Ultimate Networking Event

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
For the record : The Local Scene

When you
first came to Philly for school, you were told about things like the rich
history and culture of the city...but what about the local music scene?
Home to countless bands and performers, Philly's local scene is a great
resource for you to check out for the new latest music.
As a advocate
of the local music scene, I strongly recommend you take a look at some
of the many options of new music that's waiting to be discovered. Whether
you're in the mood for smooth funk or indie rock, hip-hop or heavy metal,
there's bound to be at least one band that you'll love.
Now, I know
what you're thinking—'Where exactly do I start?' Good question.
How about right here? Campus Philly is dedicated to helping you make the
most of your time here in the city—and that includes introducing
you to some of the many talented musicians this city has to offer you.
Keep checking
the website and while you're at it, make sure you stop by the local stage
at the Campus Philly Kick-Off, which takes place September 29, 2007 on
the Parkway.
You'll thank
us later.

CAREER PHILLY

Three Reasons You Should Attend
Connections: Philly's Ultimate Networking Event
1. Expand Your Network
This will
be your chance to meet people who already do what you want to do! Our
networking event is a great way to meet industry professionals working
tin the field you are trying to break into. It is also an opportunity
to meet other college students with the same professional interest. Think
inside information.
2. Develop Your Skills
Take
advantage of the opportunities that networking provides. Participate in
the speed networking sessions to learn how to provide professional information
quickly and accurately, learn how to talk to people you have just meet
for the first time and enjoy it and prepare for the next professional
event. The more you do it, the easier it is.
3. Shop Around
Your
current position works for you, but there might be a better position.
Who are you? You are a smart, talented, energetic college student. You
are the student recruiters are looking for and are hoping to find. If
you have a job or internship you like or love three days out of the week,
take the time to explore your options. You could find your dream position.
