FROM THE EDITOR'S
DESK
FOR
THE RECORD: Support
the local music scene.
I
am obsessed with music. For those of you who don't know me, I live and
breathe it. While I may not be musically-talented, I am always on the
hunt to find the next best thing.
While its
great to support the national and international bands, don't forget to
support the local music scene. Remember, even the biggest names in music
(insert your favorite Top 40 band here) started off as a local band. At
some point, they were playing for small crowds in underground venues in
their hometown, before they were taking the stages at some of the most
prestigious venues in the world.
A lot of
the venues around the city are local-band friendly, so make sure you check
them out. Support the local music scene.
