FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
For the record : Back to School
All summer,
there was a small part of me that secretly missed school. I wouldn't admit
it, but I did. It happens.
Like most
of you, I started school this week. Over the last two days, I've wandered
into new classrooms of faces. As much as I'm excited to (finally) be a
senior and have started school, part of me doesn't want to let go of summer.
Why? Well, because it means papers, tests, presentations and buying books--even
studying.
More importantly,
it means that in a few months, I'll be forced to go out into the real
world and become...a grown-up. Ugh, I know.
So I'm going
to savor every last moment of this year; you might want to do the same,
because pretty soon, it will be you.

CAREER PHILLY
Three
Reasons You Should Attend
Connections: Philly's Ultimate Networking Event
1. Expand Your Network
This will
be your chance to meet people who already do what you want to do! Our
networking event is a great way to meet industry professionals working
tin the field you are trying to break into. It is also an opportunity
to meet other college students with the same professional interest. Think
inside information.
2. Develop Your Skills
Take
advantage of the opportunities that networking provides. Participate in
the speed networking sessions to learn how to provide professional information
quickly and accurately, learn how to talk to people you have just meet
for the first time and enjoy it and prepare for the next professional
event. The more you do it, the easier it is.
3. Shop Around
Your
current position works for you, but there might be a better position.
Who are you? You are a smart, talented, energetic college student. You
are the student recruiters are looking for and are hoping to find. If
you have a job or internship you like or love three days out of the week,
take the time to explore your options. You could find your dream position.
