Art Sphere - Campus Philly is excited to partner with Art Sphere for a second year for a project at the Fishtown Rec Center. ASBers will repaint a mural, work with stencil painting, clean up the park, and beautify the recreation center with the possibility working with a group of local elementary school students.
Education Works - Education Works is also working with Campus Philly for the second year, and this year's project will be at the Germantown Beacon Center. Beacon Centers are designed to rebuild communities of support and improved academic success for children, youth and their families in urban neighborhoods, and ASB participants will learn about education issues in Philadelphia as well as work with local students.
PHS - PHS views greening as an integral way to bring urban neighbors together and create a higher quality of life throughout the city. Its Philadelphia Green program organizes residents and local groups to maintain parks, plant and maintain tree-lined streets, and transform vacant lots into community gardens and open spaces. Volunteers will work on a community garden in Philadelphia and learn about the importance of urban greening to the environment as well as to the neighborhood.
MANNA - MANNA delivers care and hope by nourishing people at acute nutritional risk from a life-threatening illness. Offering opportunities for caring people to provide loving support to families, friends, and neighbors, MANNA enables local families and individuals to be more independent as they learn to cope with a serious illness.
Volunteers will work in MANNA’s kitchen in downtown Philadelphia to help prepare food, as well as learning about MANNA’s mission, organization, and approach towards helping people in need.
More activities will be coming as details are confirmed.
