In 2009, Campus Philly will host its second Alternative Spring Break. Instead of spending tons of money on airfare, hotels, and tacky souvenirs, why not stay in the place you know and love and help your own community?

  • ASB is completely free for students from Campus Philly’s partner schools. This includes accommodations, meals, and transportation around Philadelphia.

  • Each day will be spent with a different Philadelphia nonprofit covering a variety of social issues. These days will be a time to perform direct service, as well as sessions for presentations, group activities, and group reflection. To see more about activities and service projects, click here.

  • Nights will be spent exploring Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and cultural institutions; possible stops include Old City galleries, museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art or The Franklin Institute, as well as stops in neighborhoods such as South Philadelphia and the Italian Market.

  • Each week will run from Sunday evening until the following Friday evening

  • The due date for the first week (March 1st-6th) is now a soft deadline; All
applications in by the 11th will be evaluated and accepted, and all applications in after that date until February 18th will be evaluated and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The due date for March 8th-13th is February 11th.
